Foggy conditions lead to a rise in private jet charters

The foggy conditions on Monday and Tuesday of this week led to a rise in private jet bookings for leading aircraft charter provider, Air Charter Service.

The company has reported that it received 50% more private jet bookings this week, compared to Monday and Tuesday last week, citing the foggy conditions, which caused many scheduled flights into and out of the UK to be delayed or cancelled, as the main reason.

Director of the company’s private jet division, Chris Mansell, explains: “Whenever there are problems at the UK’s major airports, such as strikes, adverse weather conditions, etc. we always see a slight rise in bookings. This time though, we have booked 50% more flights as the same period last week, with many people needing to go about their business as usual, despite the weather.

“One such trip was for two people to travel to France as they simply couldn’t wait for the fog to clear. Obviously when the fog is so bad, even a private jet is unable to fly. But we were able to safely get the aircraft out of Farnborough Airport and got our client to their destination on time. Because we constantly monitor all factors that have the possibility to affect our charters, we managed to not have any cancellations or major diversions to flights that were pre-booked before the fog arrived.

“Fortunately conditions now have improved and hopefully no further flights this week will be affected.”
