Welcome to the wilderness
After your private flight into Nairobi, youâ€™ll jump on a short-hop flight to transport you to Nanyuki airstrip in the shadow of Mount Kenya. Youâ€™ll be met by your guide here, whoâ€™ll drive you to Kicheche Laikipia camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Thereâ€™ll be time to settle in and soak up your spectacular surroundings before tucking into afternoon tea. Then itâ€™s off on your first evening game drive, setting off across the plains in search of your first big five spot.
Day 2 â€“ Set off on safari
Itâ€™s an early start today, but youâ€™ll be woken with piping hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate brought to your tent.
A longer game drive will take you further out into the Conservancy for more wildlife spotting followed by a sumptuous picnic on the plains. Then itâ€™s back to camp for an al fresco lunch and the chance to watch both big game and birds gather around the waterhole.
After dinner, thereâ€™s also a chance to take a night drive to track nocturnal species with the help of a filtered spotlight.
Day 3 â€“ Walk, bike, paddle, picnic
Take your pick of activities today, from lion tracking, a walking safari, mountain biking, canoeing or another game drive. Walks with a guide and a ranger usually take two to three hours and can be tailored to your interests. Whichever you choose, thereâ€™ll be a picnic breakfast included before you return to camp.
Come afternoon, head off on a game drive, visit the ranching program or head to the wildlife centre to learn more about the area. Then itâ€™s back to the campfire or lounge for a drink before dinner in the dining tent.
Day 4 â€“ Fly south to the Masai Mara
Following a leisurely breakfast at camp, itâ€™s off to Nanyuki airstrip for a flight south to the Masai Mara. Youâ€™ll be met at the plane by your guide whoâ€™ll take you on a short game drive en route to Kicheche Mara, Bush or Valley camp.
On arrival at the camp, youâ€™ll have time to unwind and enjoy lunch then afternoon tea. Then itâ€™s off on an afternoon game drive with a stop for a sundowner overlooking the plains. When you get back to camp, thereâ€™ll be time for a shower, then drinks by the fire before dinner.
Day 5 â€“ A full-day game drive
Itâ€™s another early start today, with tea, coffee or hot chocolate served in your tent, followed by a full breakfast at camp. Youâ€™ll spend all day out in the reserve or another conservancy, covering different terrain with plenty of animals and birds to spot.
Along the way, youâ€™ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint before continuing your drive until late afternoon. After an exhilarating day in the field, thereâ€™ll be time to unwind at camp before a fireside aperitif and dinner with the group.
Day 6 â€“ Game walk and Maasai village visit
After breakfast, head out on an escorted two-hour game walk for a different perspective on your surroundings, returning to camp for a leisurely lunch.
In the afternoon, choose between a visit to a traditional Maasai manyatta (village) or take another evening game drive.
Day 7 â€“ One last drive
Make the most of your last day on safari with an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at camp. Then itâ€™s off to the airstrip for your flight back to Wilson, and your private flight home.
