Following two hurricanes in September 2017, a leading global airline had to re-assign several of their wide-body aircraft from its European schedules to repatriate 1,500 holidaymakers from Florida and the Caribbean.

AIRCRAFT: BOEING 767, 737 and AIRBUS A320

ROUTE: PARIS – THE CANARY ISLANDS AND THE BALEARIC ISLANDS

SOLUTION:

As the emergency unfolded during the busy summer schedule, ACS was given one day’s notice to source suitable aircraft, keep the airline flying and help them avoid costly compensation bills. Within only a matter of hours of the request and working through the night our 24-hour global operations team sourced five aircraft from three separate airline operators across Europe. Liaising closely with the client, we then ensured that each aircraft met their specifications and scheduling requirements.

Within a day, we had two A320s, two B737s and one B767 positioned in Paris, ready to fly on rotation to and from the Balearic and Canary Islands for two days. As well as enabling the safe return of stranded holidaymakers, we were able to save the airline from paying numerous EU261 fines for potential flight cancellations or long delays to their own flights. And all in the space of a day.
