DASSAULT FALCON 900LX

  • Passengers 14

The Dassault Falcon 900LX is the latest iteration of the brand’s successful 900 range. Featuring a modern interior and sleek finishes throughout, it sets the benchmark in its class for reliability, flexibility and fuel economy.

About this aircraft

  • Launched in 2008 and delivered in 2010, the Dassault 900LX is an upgrade of the 900EX and 900EX EASy.
  • The cabin can be configured to carry up to 16 passengers, but most seat 10-14.
  • There’s space in the baggage hold for up to 12 suitcases.
  • The 900LX has a longer range than the 900EX, connecting cities like Chicago and Geneva, Mumbai and London, and Hong Kong and Sydney.

The Falcon 900LX is the culmination of several upgrades in the 900 series, featuring updated avionics and engines while maintaining the shell of the original that rolled off the production line in the late 1980s.

Interior design

The Falcon 900LX has a roomy, comfortable cabin. Similar to the 900EX, its standard layout is split into three sections with a double-club configuration, three-person divan and full-size private lavatory and galley. Natural lighting comes from 24 windows.

Two seats convert into a full-length bed for night flights, while the rest are fully adjustable and can move along a track, swivel and recline. Some configurations include up to three divans, two of which face each other in the same section.

Below is a common configuration for the Falcon 900LX.

Interesting facts to learn before you fly

  • The 900LX’s modern winglets and noise-reducing insulation can be retrofitted to boost performance across the 900 series.
  • Passengers in the cabin can control mood lighting, make voice calls and use high-speed internet.
  • Alternative private jets include the Gulfstream G450 and Bombardier Global 5500.

Technological features

The Falcon 900LX is powered by three reliable and time-tested Honeywell TFE731-60 engines, which deliver more power with lower fuel consumption and require less maintenance than much of the competition.

The aircraft’s cockpit is equipped with the EASy II flight deck (from 2011 models onwards), with 14.1in flat-panel LCD screens and a cursor control device.

History

Dassault’s Falcon series began with the Falcon 20 in 1965 and later iterations included the 50, 900 and 900B. The 900EX featured more powerful engines and improved avionics, while the upgraded 900EX EASy had new avionics and modern cabin technology.

The Falcon 900DX was introduced in 2005 as a mid-point option between the 900EX EASy and 2000EX. The 900LX followed in 2013, retaining most of its predecessors’ design features and introducing new winglets, engines, fuel tanks and avionics.

Manufacturer

Dassault Aviation’s history dates back to the dawn of aviation. Marcel Bloch (later known as Marcel Dassault) founded the company following a childhood fascination with aesthetics and innovation and it went on to become one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.

Following the oil shock of 1973-74 and the Iranian crisis in 1979, the global economy felt the impact of rising raw material prices. Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition. Today, the brand holds a special place in the industry as the only global aerospace company still owned by its founding family.

Cost

Prices for a Falcon 900LX range from $17.5m (2010 model) to $44m (2022 model), according to Aircraft Bluebook's Summer 2022 data.
