Expediting the delivery of 181 pallets of AI parts
An artificial intelligence company needed our help moving 33 tonnes of parts from a Cambodian factory to their data centre in Texas. An ongoing territorial dispute between Cambodia and Thailand had sparked land border closures, leading to supply chain delays. We got to work on an air charter solution to get things back on track.
Our Solution
Routes: Phnom Penh > Houston
Aircraft: Boeing B777
Our teams in Sydney and Chicago worked together on this urgent request, liaising with the client’s air freight director in Australia and CEO in the United States to coordinate a seamless plan within 24 hours.
The shipment of delicate patch panel cases was packed onto 181 pallets, so we needed an aircraft that could handle heavy and outsized loads. After sourcing several options, our experts recommended a Boeing B777 as the most cost-effective solution.
Thanks to our strong relationship, the operator extended the deadline for moving the freight from the factory to the departure airport amidst tensions on the ground. We also avoided the time and expense of securing permits by landing at one of their scheduled airports.
Once at the airport, the cargo was carefully transferred onto the B777 using a main deck loader. The charter made it to Texas in good time, allowing our client to keep production moving without the need for a costly shutdown.
